History Below is a brief history of how Uninterruptible Power Supplies Ltd (UPS Ltd) has grown into a leading power protection solutions provider.
2010 UPS Ltd opens its first global sales office in Singapore. 2009 Leveraging Kohler’s technical leadership in the global power generation industry, UPS Ltd introduces a comprehensive range of stand-by diesel generators. 2008 UPS Ltd is acquired by Kohler Power Group, a global leader in engines and power generator systems. At the time, Dick Fotsch, Kohler Global Power Group president, is quoted as saying: “Bringing UPS Ltd into our Global Power Group is an appropriate extension to our business. As we seek to become a full ‘systems’ supplier in the worldwide power generation market, UPS Ltd’s incredible maintenance and service reputation in the uninterruptible power supply category is a strong complement to providing complete power solutions for our customers.” 2007 Uninterruptible Power Supplies Ltd launches the PowerWAVE 9000DPA - the 2nd generation of the company's highly acclaimed three-phase modular transformerless UPS products. 2006 Building on its reputation for quality, UPS Ltd certified to BSI EN ISO 9001:2008, The company follows this by gaining certification for environmental procedures ISO 14001 and health & safety procedures OHSAS 18001, and is recognised as an Investor in People. 2005 The company is bought by members of the management team backed by Barclays Ventures. 2002 UPS Ltd extends its service capability across the UK to further cement its reputation of uncompromising service excellence with its customers. 2001 UPS Ltd launches the first three-phase transformerless, modular UPS in the UK. 2000 UPS Ltd publish the first edition of “The UPS Handbook”. The book, which is now in its third edition, is an all-inclusive guide to understanding, designing and implementing uninterruptible power supply and power protection systems, and has sold almost 30,000 copies worldwide. 1999 UPS Ltd introduces the first three-phase transformerless & parallel technology uninterruptible power supply into the UK power protection market. 1998 Rapid growth in business leads to a move to larger premises at Calleva Business Park, Aldermaston, UK, which is now the location of UPS Ltd’s global HQ. 1997 Uninterruptible Power Supplies Ltd is established by five founder members, and begins operating out of a small office in Theale, Berkshire, UK. |
