GlaxoSmithKlin's Services Provider, EMCOR Awards Preferred Supplier Status To Uninterruptible Power Supplies Ltd

EMCOR, GlaxoSmithKline's mechanical and electrical services provider, selected Uninterruptible Power Supplies Limited to maintain the power protection systems for GlaxoSmithKline's worldwide computer centre, site power system, radios and pagers at Stevenage. Uninterruptible Power Supplies won the contract on the basis of EMCOR's previous experience of the company's performance at other client sites and Uninterruptible Power Supplies' continued commitment to competitive pricing.

Subsequently, Uninterruptible Power Supplies Limited has been awarded preferred supplier status for UPS maintenance and service by EMCOR Facilities Services Limited.

GlaxoSmithKline selected a variety from Uninterruptible Power Supplies' PowerWAVE UPS range to replace outdated stock at Stevenage. Uninterruptible Power Supplies also embarked on a large-scale UPS repair and battery replacement programme.

Under the terms of the new contract, Uninterruptible Power Supplies maintains legacy power support equipment from other vendors as well as its own PowerWAVE Systems. The maintenance package includes scheduled maintenance in accordance with agreed shutdowns, and round-the-clock emergency services 365 days a year with guaranteed four-hour call-out. In addition, Uninterruptible Power Supplies maintains UPS equipment in chemistry and biology laboratories at the client's convenience.

EMCOR is now able to benefit from a one-stop shop for its client's power support maintenance from highly qualified people, with a track record of reliability. Uninterruptible Power Supplies has also won the UPS maintenance contract for GlaxoSmithKline's Ware, Greenford and Beckenham sites, also serviced by EMCOR, and is currently commissioning two further UPS systems at GlaxoSmithKline sites.
