UPS PowerWAVE 5000 Series™ - More features and benefits
Packaging
- The PowerWAVE5000 is built within a freestanding cabinet with integral static and maintenance bypass switches. Batteries are located in matching cabinets, or open or cladded battery stands, are available for extra autonomy
- PowerWAVE5000 is a lightweight solution - a 120kVA unit without batteries weighs less than 350kg
Battery autonomy and management
You can match PowerWAVE5000's autonomy to your actual load, eliminating wasted space and expense. Advanced battery management features ensure that PowerWAVE5000 is fit to deliver the autonomy on demand, throughout the batteries' operational life.
- UPS integral batteries for minimal footprint
- Battery cabinets and stands available for additional batteries and extended autonomy
- Temperature controlled battery charger to avoid overcharging and damage to batteries
- Ripple free or <1% ripple charging to maximise battery operational life
- Automatic , adjustable period battery testing allowing early identification of potential failure conditions
Flexible, large scale power protection - with high availability from a small footprint
With PowerWAVE5000, transformerless design has evolved to a point where 300kVA per UPS module is now available. Up to ten of these modules can be paralleled together to create very high capacities together with n+1 redundancy. As well as their own minimal footprint, these large and highly available transformerless configurations eliminate the need for a 12 pulse rectifier and filter cabinets, achieving substantial and valuable space savings for the whole UPS installation.
- Module capacities from 10kVA to 300kVA allow easy matching to the critical load, ensuring efficient operation with reduced power consumption and cooling costs
- If the demand for capacity or redundant protection grows, modules can easily be added to meet this - without interruption of power to the critical load.
- PowerWAVE5000 in a parallel configuration has a decentralised parallel architecture (DPA) which eliminates single points of failure to significantly increase the overall UPS availability to the load
- Redundant critical circuit design within the UPS modules provides an extra layer of protection to users
- Support for dual power feed provides resilience to primary mains failure
- High overload capacity of 125% for 10 minutes or 150% for 1 minute, allowing resilience to load surges
Power conversion design for economy and protection
The PowerWAVE5000 is designed for maximum operating efficiency, and protection from harmful supply feed and load power effects
- A near unity input power factor minimises the input current drawn in relation to the critical load size, allowing reduced sizing in input cabling, switchgear and associated components
- Input current total harmonic distortion of <7% reduces harmonic emissions which can otherwise threaten compliance with Energy Networks Association recommendations
- An efficiency of up to 97% online minimises UPS losses, operating costs and cooling requirements
- True sinusoidal voltage output with a static output tolerance of ±1% prevents overheating of the load
- Wide input voltage and frequency tolerance maximise availability of power to the load
- Overload capacity of 150% for 1 minute or 125% for 10 minutes, providing resilience to load surges
Flexible communications options for local or centralized monitoring and control
The PowerWAVE5000 includes an operator interface for local control. It also has options for remote monitoring and control across your onsite network
- Power Management Display (PMD) providing local indication of UPS status and facilitating UPS start up, shut down and alarm acknowledgement
- Dry Port (Volt free contacts) for remote signalling and managed computer shutdown
- RS232 serial Smart Port for monitoring and integration into management networks
- Optional remote signal panel (RSP) for UPS status indication
- Optional SNMP card/adapter for network management and remote monitoring
- Wavemon software for remote or centralised automatic shutdown and monitoring
Further Options
Our mission is to deliver a UPS solution that precisely fits your situation and requirements, and continuously delivers clean power. These options contribute to this goal.
