Overview

ST StandardThe PowerWAVE 8000DPA is ideal for low to medium power, high density critical power protection applications. Using proven Decentralised Parallel Architecture (DPA™) technology, it combines true ‘hot-swap’ modularity with leading efficiency, maximum availability and flexibility to provide critical power protection up to 120kVA (100kVA N+1).

The PowerWAVE 8000DPA now offers an exceptionally low cost of ownership with its recent inclusion on the Carbon Trust's Energy Technology List.  This means businesses are able to offset the total cost of the equipment against taxable profits within the year of purchase.

Maximum availability - PowerWAVE 8000DPA provides class leading ‘Six nines’ (99.9999%) availability by uniquely combining the benefits of decentralised parallel architecture (DPA™), parallel redundancy and ‘hot-swap’ modularity to ensure 24/7 power availability.

PowerWAVE 8000DPA modulesHigh energy efficiency total flexibility  & low total cost of ownership – The combination of high energy efficiency (up to 95.5%) and scalable flexibility using ‘hot-swap’ modules ensures that the PowerWAVE 8000DPA offers a low total cost of ownership.  UPS modules can be simply added, in cost effective incremental steps as the critical load power requirement grows.  This ensures the UPS is ‘rightsized’ at initial installation, reducing the system’s initial cost, optimising its operating efficiency and reducing ongoing operating costs.

The right solution - PowerWAVE 8000DPA is available in two different versions to provide maximum flexibility across a wide range of applications:

-       PowerWAVE 8000DPA ST (Standard) is available for high density applications requiring a standard power protection solution including; frame, UPS, battery and communication. This solution delivers power protection from 10kVA to 120kVA (100kVA N+1) in 10kVA or 20kVA modular steps to provide a maximum power density of 283 kW/m2.

8000DPA ST120

-       PowerWAVE 8000DPA RI (Rack-Independent) solution including: UPS, battery and communication, which can be integrated into any 19" rack (independent of manufacturer) and provides up to 40kVA (20kVA N+1 making it ideal for integrated IT, Telecom or other applications.

Key Benefits

  • Capacities from 10kVA to 120kVA in 10kVA or 20kVA modular steps
  • N+1 Redundancy (up to 100kVA N+1)
  • Decentralised Parallel Architecture (DPA™) ensures exceptional reliability, availability and maximum uptime through critical component and circuitry duplication
  • ‘Six nines’ (99.9999%) availability
8000DPA RI
  • 'Hot-Swap’ modularity provides total flexibility ensuring the UPS can be ‘rightsized’ to the critical load at initial installation reducing initial costs, optimising operating efficiency and reducing the total cost of ownership.

  • Quick and simple power upgrade or repair by ‘Hot-Swapping’ modules while the UPS is online maximises availability and simplifies system upgrades

  • High operating efficiency across a wide load range (94.5% to 95.5% efficiency from 25% partial load to 100% full load) reduces system running costs and site air conditioning costs, reducing CO2 emissions

  • Small footprint – only 0.26m2 at 120kVA (100kVA N+1) delivering a power density of up to 283kW/m2 – allowing substantial and valuable space savings even at the highest power ratings

  • Near unity power factor at partial and full loads (PF>0.99 @ 100% load)

  • Low input harmonic distortion (THDi<3%)

  • Blade server friendly – provides fully rated output power to power factors between 0.9 leading and 0.8 lagging

  • Transformerless technology

  • Easy front access for operation and maintenance

Now a Carbon Trust ECA-listed product, businesses investing in the 8000DPA can receive 100% of the cost of the UPS against taxable profits; therefore potentially reducing the organisation’s tax bill by 28% of the equipment cost.
